although pretty nasty to admit, i still have a collection of candies from other countries – probably dating back 15 years.  i’ll photograph them and put them on my flickr and mayyybe upgrade to the pro account – although i haven’t been sold on that idea just yet.

 

thing-a-day starts today!

remember last february, when i participated in thing-a-day by making an alphabet?  i’m looking forward to doing it again this year – with new subject matter and medium.  swap ink pen for wacom wand and font for faces; each day i’ll draw someone famous or not and post them at myconey.posterous.com – if you want me to draw you, send a photo to info@prismpop.com or leave a suggestion in the comments.  i’m not going to give it too much attention or detail but i’m excited to see what takes shape.  i’ll post favorites to this blog in march.

gone fishing

lola staar’s dreamland roller rink opens for another season with a summer spectacular party on may23.   winner of tommy hilfiger’s 2008 ‘live your dream’ contest, activist dianna carlin launched her vision thanks to his & co-sponsor<glamour magazine>’s generosity.  the initial plan was one night of skating bliss – but the public’s response was so positive and overwhelming that carlin<staar> vowed to keep at it + here we are one year later, still rolling.  the rink is located in the childs restaurant building on 21st + the boardwalk.  the landmark has stood tall for over 80 years but had been closed to the public for the better part of the last decade.
